Is this thread mainly to fend off the dreaded pruning or is one able to post questions here?

My understanding is that this thread is a life buoy to state afloat on this board. That's how I will be using it.

It's been quite some time since I was active on the Spanish forum... I got pruned. I'm trying to register for the online guitar lessons and I'm beginning a posting rampage. :)

That’s right. Average one post a month keeps your registration live for the exam.
Good to see you folks getting ready rather than last min rush to register.

Thanks Colin. Here is my facsimile Abba Stayin' Alive post for October. Yes, my intent is to avoid the last minute rush around exam time to re-register on this board. I will check in, in about one month's time.

Hey you guys can stay alive by popping in to lessons D06 or 7 in Spanish and hear some music and provide some critique and encouragement. We need it! And you can practice your google translate skills. You’ll need that when you graduate to D06.

Seasons Greetings to all.

I plan to take Rick up on his recommendation for future posts. Maybe interloping on submissions at my own level as I just don't think I am in a position to critique higher levels. But I definitely can provide words of encouragement and derive encouragement by viewing higher level submissions.

Here is my January post for the month. Comparing the English and Spanish board, it is interesting to see how the respective levels from D01-D05, definitely have quite a difference in the number of participants. I suspect that varies from year to year. What appears to be consistent though, is that participants seem to post their monthly submissions a lot earlier on the English board, but submit their pieces later in the month, on the Spanish board.

So I just found this thread and it is a perfect opportunity to keep my activity on the Spanish forum current. I initially joined the Spanish forum last year and then I realized that my level of play would benefit if I withdrew from submitting lessons and spent time developing basic skill and technique before continuing. This year I am doing much better with my submissions with the D01 group and plan to attempt the final exam at the end of the year. It is nice to find some of the names of people I am familiar with here on this forum.

Yes they tend to submit finished work here rather than student work in progress. That’s been a challenge for me with the harder material. I don’t think I’ve submitted anything I’d call performance ready. They also tend to take every suggestion of JFD literally as “the rules.” I submitted after 6 days onece instead of one week and I got criticized by some participants and warned by the mod. Jeesh!

Rick, sounds like I would be run out of town on this board. I better stay put on the English board ... for now.

FWIW,
I would pay money for a manual on applying text etiquette in this new age.
